We are working diligently on restoring the 150 year old barn on the property.
To raise funds to complete the restoration,
2nd Chance is raffling a $500.00 Menards gift card.
Tickets are $10.00 each and there are only 150 tickets.
The drawing will be in June 30, 2026.

2nd Chance is offering Trini’s Burritoes for you to order. This year they also have available enchiladas to order.
We will have them available to order until May 9.
There are three enchilada choices, taco meat, chicken, and cheese and they are 2 per package.
All the burrito favorites are available, all meat, chicken and bean, rice and bean, Jim’s and the Trini’s Lil Nasty.

Another section of the upper level floor in the barn is done. Gradually bringing this old barn to the original state. Much time and assets are required, but it will stand proudly when it is complete!

Thank you to all who attended and supported the Pancake Breakfast.
Food was great, as well the fellowship.
Those who attended were able to see the progress that had been made on Grace House, as well as the barn.

2nd Chance is raffling a Winchester 308 rifle as a fundraiser (see description with picture).
The tickets are $20 each and there are 100 tickets to purchase, so the odds of winning are pretty good!
The gun is at Franks Sporting Goods in Morley, MI to be viewed during the duration of the raffle and to be picked up by the winner.
The winner will be chosen on November 8th
At 2nd Chance Grace House at 1660 100th Ave, Lakeview, MI at a Hunters Breakfast we will host that morning.
All are welcome are to the breakfast, you don’t need to be a hunter.

The area where the old south side porch was has been sided with painted rough sawn pine to cover the old exposed lumber.
Grace House just keeps getting prettier and prettier. Blessed!

Painting day!
More painting was completed on Grace House and started the priming and painting of the garage. We had a full crew and accomplished a lot in a short amount of time.

501(c)3 non profit corporation
1660 100th Avenue, Lakeview, MI 48850
Hinton Township
2nd Chance Corporation is a 501(c)3 non profit corporation, who acquired the property at 1660 100th Avenue, Lakeview, Michigan in Hinton Township. The Board of Directors of 2nd Chance has started a Christian Retreat Center on the property. It will be available to churches and organizations for short term gatherings, such as youth group meetings, women and men retreats, and many other events that would benefit from a Christian setting. The house could also serve as a location for Cowboy Church, Christian musical events, and many other Christian gatherings. The property will require updating, remodeling, and renovation to reach that goal, with the vision to recreate the appearance that it had over one hundred years ago.
2nd Chance Grace House also will be a rehab center where teens and adults will be able to satisfy their court mandated community service hours. 2nd Chance has worked with youth and adults in Kent County for the past 5 years through the community service program. The youth and adults have committed lesser severe crimes, mostly drug and alcohol charges. 2nd Chance is not qualified to handle those that
have committed severe crimes. The community service workers have been mandated by the courts to perform a court determined amount of hours of community service to satisfy their obligation. These community service workers would be able to satisfy their obligation at this property in many ways such as grounds maintenance, preparing the inside of the house for the guests, cutting, splitting, and stacking wood for the wood boiler, which will be the heat source for the house, and many other tasks required at the property. Because of the location of the property, 2nd Chance will be able to work with community service
workers from Northern Kent, Mecosta and Montcalm counties.
The facility as planned will serve dual purposes; to supply a Christian facility for groups to use for their Christian retreats and gatherings and will be a great location for the community service workers to complete their court mandated obligation.
The 2nd Chance Grace House Board of Directors appreciates your interest and support in this project. The 2nd Chance Corporation, an organization that provides instruction and guidance in life skills to youth and adults, admits participants of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.
